The 3rd Joint Coordinating Committee Meeting for the Project to Improve Cyber Resilience in Cambodia Held on August 28, 2025
The 3rd Joint Coordinating Committee (JCC) Meeting for the Project to Improve Cyber Resilience in Cambodia was held on August 28, 2025.
The meeting was attended by representatives from the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications (MPTC), the implementing agency of the project, as well as JICA Headquarters and the JICA Cambodia Office. In addition, officials from various Cambodian government agencies related to cybersecurity participated, including the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology and Innovation, the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, and the National Bank of Cambodia.
During the meeting, MPTC project members, the Chief Advisor, and JICA experts presented updates on the progress of project activities and the results of the mid-term evaluation since the previous meeting held in November 2024. It was reported that most of the activities are progressing smoothly, including technical training in cybersecurity for MPTC staff and awareness-raising initiatives for government agencies and operators of critical information infrastructure.
In preparation for the project’s completion in October 2026, participants engaged in concrete discussions on how to leverage the outcomes of past activities and formulate the 2026 activity plan to further strengthen Cambodia’s cybersecurity capabilities.
The JCC meetings are held annually, bringing together key stakeholders involved in the project—including the head of the implementing agency, JICA Headquarters, and the JICA Cambodia Office—to review progress during the implementation period and discuss future directions.
