Kampong Cham PHD Conducts Preparations for HPV Screening Campaign

As part of the NCD Control Project’s activity the Kampong Cham Provincial Health Department (PHD) held two stakeholder coordination meetings on April 20 and May 6, 2026, to prepare for community outreach activities to raise awareness of cervical cancer and promote HPV screening 1 , as well as pre-registration prior to the HPV screening campaign scheduled for May 18–22, 2026.

During the meetings, PHD officials, Provincial Hospital staff, Health Center chief, Village Health Support Groups, and the JICA team discussed preparations for the campaign. Discussion focused on village visit plans, use of educational flipchart for HPV screening developed by the Ministry of Health , pre-registration of eligible women, and roles and responsibilities of community actors and Provincial Hospital staff.

Following these preparations, the PHD staff, health center chief, and community leaders conducted community outreach activities from May 11 to 15, in four target villages in the Kampong Cham/Kampong Siem Operational District to raise awareness of cervical cancer, promote HPV screening, and support pre-registration of eligible women. These activities helped prepare communities for the upcoming HPV screening campaign.
