The First Joint Coordinating Committee (JCC) Meeting

On March 12, 2025, the First Joint Coordinating Committee (JCC) Meeting of the "Noncommunicable Diseases (NCD) Control Project" took place in Phnom Penh. The meeting was presided over by H.E. Dr. Ngov Kang, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Health (MoH), and attended by representatives from the Preventive Medicine Department, Kampong Cham Provincial Health Department, Operational District offices, provincial and district referral hospitals of Kampong Cham, JICA Headquarters, and other relevant institutions.

During the meeting, key achievements of the NCD Control Project were highlighted, showcasing the current challenges the target hospitals are facing and finding their solutions. Additionally, a consensus was made on the revision of the Project Design Matrix. Importance of collecting NCD data and routine monitoring of key indicators were emphasized throughout the meeting.

In the upcoming fiscal year 2025, the Project will focus on implementing the prioritized activities to advance MoH and Kampong Cham’s capacities to control diabetes, hypertension and cervical cancer.
