News#1 The 1st JCC Meeting of the Project

The first meeting of the Joint Coordinating Committee (JCC) for the ‘Project for Improvement of Urban Public Transport System in Maputo’ chaired by Mr. Alexandre Muianga the Councilor of the Maputo Municipal Council (CMM) as the Project Director was held on February 20th, 2023.

The JCC meeting was held at the facility of CMM in Maputo, Mozambique. The JCC members, from Mozambique side and Japan side, discussed the necessary items for implementation of the Project and the work plan and confirmed that all stakeholders involved in the Project will work together to achieve the project goal smoothly and effectively.

The JCC members also agreed to use “METRAP-Maputo” as the nickname for the Project. “ME” stands for “Melhoramento” and “Metropolitan”, “TRA” stands for “Transport”, and “P” stands for “Public” and “Project”.
