News#17 METRAP-Maputo Video on Bus Fleet Maintenance Improvement Activities (March 2025)

The maintenance of a public bus operator's fleet is essential for ensuring operational efficiency and safety. To this end, the METRAP-Maputo project has been conducting training for the bus maintenance team at EMTPM. Such training, if continued by EMTPM, will enable the company to carry out efficient and ongoing maintenance of their bus fleet, reducing unexpected issues and ensuring that all buses have a long lifespan, remain in good operating condition, and are always on schedule, thus providing excellent service to users.

To share the EMTPM’s activities and effort with the public, METRAP-Maputo released an interview video featuring Mr. Koji Uzawa, a project expert member responsible for the bus operation and maintenance. The interview highlights EMTPM's strengths and identifies areas for improvement, focusing on "periodic inspections" by mechanics. The video has been published on the EMTPM Facebook page and on YouTube, with Portuguese subtitles.
