News#18 GTFS Training at EMTPM (March 2025)
METRAP-Maputo project is supporting EMTPM in updating its database on bus stop locations, timetables, and routes through field surveys, and converting this information to the General Transit Feed Specification (GTFS) format. The GTFS format will be integrated into Google Maps for mapping of bus stop locations and route directions.
This initiative aims to enhance the accessibility of public bus transport information for the users on their mobile phones or computers. To support this effort, EMTPM staff and technicians are undergoing essential training by METRAP-Maputo to effectively implement and maintain the GTFS database. A total of 19 trainees participated in the three-day training from March 10th to March 12th at EMTPM. At the end of the training course, the trainees were awarded with a completion certificate.
