News#28 METRAP-Maputo Project Participates in Sustainable Mobility Week in Boane Municipality (November 2025)

On November 3, 2025, the METRAP-Maputo Project team participated in the 8^th Sustainable Mobility Week (SMW) Central Seminar held in the Municipality of Boane, part of the Greater Maputo area. The annual awareness event, organized by UN-Habitat in collaboration with various partners, brings together key stakeholders in the urban mobility sector.

During the event, the JICA Expert Team engaged in discussions with a wide range of participants, including the Mayor of Boane, representatives from Maputo Municipality, the Maputo Metropolitan Transport Agency (AMT), and other development partners. Following the seminar, the team had the valuable opportunity to meet directly with the Director of the Ministry of Transport and Communications and the Mayor of Boane to exchange views on regional transport initiatives.

This participation highlights the project's expanding influence beyond Maputo City, fostering broader regional cooperation and dialogue on sustainable urban mobility across the entire metropolitan area.
