News#8 Preparation of Discussion Points for the Review of Urban Transport Master Plan 2014 (November 2023)

The 3rd meeting of the Technical Working Group for Output 1 took place on November 14, 2023. Mr. Nelson Massago, the Director of DMTT, initiated the opening remark with warm greetings, fostering an atmosphere of cooperation. The agenda commenced with a comprehensive report on the progress of Output 1, delivered by Ms. Marcia Muianga from DMTT. JICA expert provided insights into the current status of the transport survey, presenting the analysis findings until March 2024. The discussion expanded to include an analysis of the prevailing socioeconomic framework which captured the attention of the participants. The expert team outlined the significant shifts from M/P 2014 to the present day, including estimated population projections for the metropolitan area. Subsequently, attention turned to the "Vision & Strategies" for the Next M/P, as well as the defining criteria for the selection of priority projects. A list of tentative projects for the Next M/P promoted constructive dialogue among the participants. The meeting concluded a training session on Transport Planning & Surveys, aimed at enhancing participants’ skills in these areas.
