The 1st Climate Resilience Workshop for Climate Resilience Project (2022-08-11)

In order to prepare for project activities from the dry season, the 1st Climate Resilience Workshop was held during 10 and 11 August among 30 officers from Oromia region, Jimma zone, Southwest Shewa Zone and the two selected pilot districts Setema and Dawo.

While discussing the measures and actions taken by Oromia Regional Government in line with "Climate Resilience and Green Economy (CRGE)", the Farmers Field School (FFS) approach, which will be promoted by the project together with regional government, was explicitly presented by Mr. Mohammed Kasim, (national level master trainer of FFS). During the two-days workshop, the participants intensively discussed on core problems which the farmers are facing in their area due to the climate change and also the adaptation countermeasures to the core problems within the framework of FFS approach.

On his closing remark, Mr.Bona Yadessa Co-Project Manager (Deputy Director General, Oromia Environmental Protection Authority) shared his expectation about the potential impact of the project to enhance resilience among local communities and called participants to continue preparation in their office to bring tangible actions.
