The objective of this project is to establish tourism revitalization activities in Mercosur (the common market region of Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay) for the Japanese market, and achieving administrative independence for the Joint Project Management Office (JPMO) of Mercosur.
Under this project, a review will be made of the policy for an official status and administrative independence of JPMO, and a tourism promotion strategy will be drafted for the Japanese market. Through tourism promotional activities for the Japanese market such as travel show exhibits, planning for overseas training, Web site management and publicity material development, the framework of regional cooperation among the Mercosur nations in the tourism sectors will be strengthened.
The aim of this project is to provide training to people working in tourism in each of the Mercosur nations. Each six months, training will be provided toward increasing the number of Japanese tourists. The number of tourists from Japan to the Mercosur region has increased every year, reaching some one hundred thousand currently.
