Sustainable Use of Forest Resources in the Western Area of Formosa Province

The aim of this project is for small-scale farmers and foresters such as native peoples in the western part of Formosa Province to acquire technical skills in sustained use of forestry resources. By incorporating sustainable use of forestry resources, the vicious circle of environmental destruction and poverty will be alleviated.

Project Summary

Under this project, production activity training will be provided to facilitators in community organizations. The training will be in such areas as grazing forests, agro-forestry, sustainable use of virgin forests, forestation and greenification, apiculture and sustained charcoal production technology. The trained facilitators will then spread their expertise to farmers and foresters through seminars, increasing the level of productive activities.


Project Highlights

The object of this project is the sustainable use of forest resources. By working with the indigenous peoples of Formosa Province, the production of vegetables and livestock will be promoted.
