Project to Strengthen Capacities in Biodiversity Conservation of the Interior Atlantic Forest

The objective of this project is to provide the Ministry of Ecology, Renewable Natural Resources and Tourism (Ministerio de Ecología, Recursos Naturales Renovables y Turismo) of Argentina’s Misiones Province with organizational supports for biodiversity information in Misiones. This will bolster the local capability to manage biodiversity in inland forests on the Atlantic coast.

Project Summary

Under this project, a database will be created and training will be provided on producing, collecting and managing data. Also, a strategy will be formulated for accessing and spreading information. The capacity to generate, collect and manage biodiversity data will be enhanced as well as the accessibility to that data.


Project Highlights

A database is being created on plants and animals in Misiones Province to better protect species in the province. Environmental education is also being provided to children with using the database.
