Major Projects

Urban Solid Waste Reduction Project

The objective of this project is to improve the capacity to promote waste reduction planning of the sustainable development governmental agency Secretariat of Environment and Sustainable Development of Buenos Aires Province. This will be done through pilot projects in the Buenos Aires cities of Zárate and Campana and will support the formulation of a waste reduction plan for all cities in the province.

Under this project, baseline surveys will be implemented in Zárate and Campana, and counterpart personnel will participate in training in Japan for basic knowledge and technology in the 3Rs: Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. Additionally, a basic waste reduction plan in Zárate and a common waste reduction plan in Campana will be drafted, and seminars and workshops will be held to educate the residents about the plans.


Project Highlights

The goal of this project is to decrease the solid waste in the industrial cities of Zárate and Campana, situated outside of the city of Buenos Aires, and to educate the residents in basic knowledge about the 3Rs. As Toyota and other Japanese companies are doing business in Zárate, and are working to incorporate current garbage countermeasures from Japan.
