Major Projects

Organizing for the Poverty in Local Area

The aim of this project is to increase the level of economic activities of the lower socio-economic class in rural areas and lift the standard of living, with the goal of establishing a system to develop regional communities that is autonomous and self-sustaining.

Project Summary

This project is providing support for transition from Argentina’s conventional model of supplying goods to one acquired organization management skills as a step toward independence. A pilot project will be run focusing particularly on the northern provinces where poverty is concentrated. A capacity of local governments, regional organizations and non-governmental organizations to organize, operate and manage projects will be built and strengthened.


Project Highlights

To ensure a source of living income for the residents in the province of Santiago del Estero, hothouse cultivation of vegetables is being promoted under this project as well as the production and sales of grass brooms.
