Major Projects

Capacity Development for Improvement of Livestock Hygiene in the Southern part of South America through Regional Technical Cooperation

The objective of this project is to utilize information that has been collected by regional veterinarians in projects. The pursuit of post-graduate continuing studies and training among veterinarians in the southern region of South America will be promoted for livestock disease diagnosis.

Project Summary

Under this project, a committee will be organized to oversee a regional coordination system and hold annual conferences. Additionally, the committee will conduct studies and research, and issue the reports. The committee will also set up regulations governing the announcement of information from projects at the four university faculties through the end of 2008.


Project Highlights

Japanese immunology experts will be dispatched to study and research on diseases found in such farm animals as cows, pigs and fowl in the four countries of Argentina, Bolivia, Paraguay and Uruguay. In order to ensure that this serve as a purpose in improving livestock hygiene in each nation, presentations and proposals to government officials will be made.
