Bosnia and Herzegovina

     日本語

Bosnia and Herzegovina

Bosnia and Herzegovina is making efforts to implement peace under the supervision of the international community. However, there are two entities (administrative bodies having a high level of autonomy) present under the central government, and little progress is being made on domestic ethnic reconciliation. The economy has already developed to the level of a semi-developed country (the per capita GNI was 4,790 dollars in 2010), but environmental measures lag. Currently, Bosnia and Herzegovina is implementing various domestic reforms to meet its top objective of joining the EU. Focused on 1) the consolidation of peace and ethnic reconciliation, and 2) sustainable economic growth that takes the environment into consideration, JICA is providing support for stability and sustainable growth in the country, and by extension is providing side support for its efforts to join the EU.
