Program Title: School-based Learning Improvement and Support from Education Administration

The experience I want to write about is the study tour of Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park on November 21,2018. I was excited to see how the Hiroshima Prefecture has managed to construct that huge edifice as memorial of the Atomic Bomb explosion on August 6, 1945 which claimed approximately 140,000 lives and which is being used promote peaceful co-existence in the world through the Mayors for Peace project. The experience and education I had during that tour made me vow never to take the issue of peace for granted but ensure that my whole life going forward will be dedicated to promoting peace wherever I find myself. I also learnt how the city mobilized its people and resources to re-construct it within a very short time after the unfortunate incident. This was made possible due to three main reasons. Namely, urban development for the future, solidarity of the citizens and connections with people around the world. An indication of the culture of determination and diligence of the Japanese people. I am very grateful to JICA and the Japanese government for giving me this opportunity and I hope a lot more people will also get this opportunity in the future. Aligato gozaimasu.
