It is also known as the Peace Bridge. The total cost of the construction was 22.5 billion yen. The Japanese government financed 13.5 billion yen (approximately 113 million US dollars) or 60% of the total cost with grant money. The remaining 9 billion yen (approximately 75 million US dollars) was financed by the Egyptian government.
