The Japan Foundation is an organization for international cultural exchange, promoting cultural and arts exchange, overseas Japanese-language education, overseas Japanese studies, and intellectual exchange.
Japan Foundation New Delhi, since its establishment in 1994 has been supporting (1) Arts and Cultural Exchange (2) Japanese Language Education in India (3) Japanese Studies in India, and (4) Intellectual Exchange. In Intellectural Exchange, Japan Foundation provide grants to Indian NGOs to partially cover the expense for international conferences, seminars, workshops, and training courses that can contribute to the development of an equitable and open society and the solution of global problems.
JETRO works to promote mutual trade and investment between Japan and the rest of the world. JETRO’s activities include helping developing countries achieve sustainable economic growth by working with them to strengthen their export industries, improve business-related systems (laws, taxation, certification procedures, etc.) and nurture human resources. Japan Fund for Global Environment (JFGE) provides grants for environmental conservation activities carried out both by Japanese and non-Japanese NGOs, such as afforestation, anti-desertification, protection of wildlife, conserving air and water quality (prevention of pollution and global warming), promotion of separation of waste and recycling, and environmental education.
