| Project Summary |
Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam Province, which was devastated by the tsunami caused by the earthquake off the coast of Sumatera, has recently reached ceasefire accord after the long-running civil conflict. The objective of the project is to improve the access to the areas affected by the tsunami and the conflict, improve the living environment for local communities by rehabilitating roads and urban drainage infrastructures, to a level that exceeds pre-disaster and conflict conditions. This will contribute to promoting local economic growth as well as making further progress in the peace process, thereby consolidating peace. The project is due to be completed in 2015. |
