Rehabilitation and Improvement Project of Jakarta Fishing Port

Project Highlight Supporting the rehabilitation of Jakarta Fishing Port to improve the diet of the Indonesian people and acquire foreign currency earnings
Project Summary The objective of the project is to maintain the functions of the existing facilities of the Jakarta Fishing Port as a model of an integrated industrial fishery development center in Indonesia for their efficient use and make effective and sustainable use of coastal and marine resources. The project consists of: (1) rehabilitation of east and west quay walls (1,349 m) constructed under the first phase of the project, to maintain original operational level which suffered from subsidence of DKI Jakarta, (2) rehabilitating the west breakwater, (3) repairing the road near the gate, and (4) constructing Control Tower. Bidding procedures for civil works are currently underway. The project is due to be completed in 2012.
