Kyrgyz agrarians received answers to these questions through the trainings held by Kyrgyz Vegetable Seeds (KVS) Cooperative with JICA support from 2 March to 8 April 2021 in Osh, Jalal-Abad, Talas and Chuy regions.

After participating a training in Japan, KVS Cooperative members - Adilet Kulanbekov and Amantur Sagymbaev initiated these series of trainings for farmers with aim to disseminate Japanese technologies of hybrid seed production on the example of gourd family and share information on how farmers cooperate in Japan. KVS Cooperative members noted that vegetable seed production for export and based on contract is profitable, and guarantees income to farmer. There is only one condition - to follow the technologies and ensure a quality. During the training KVS Cooperative provided their professional advice on seed business ethics and informed participants about peculiarities of Japanese seed production technologies, including basic fertilizers, growing of seedlings and pest control. As a result of trainings, around 20 participants will try to produce seeds in 2021 with KVS members guidance and support.
