Major Programs
JICA supports Namibia in line with the Country Development Cooperation Policy, whose basic objective is “Support for Realizing Sustainable and Inclusive Economic and Social Development.” Based on the two priority areas, (1) Strengthening the Industrial Foundation for Economic Growth and (2) Contribution to Poverty Reduction and Livelihood Improvement, JICA provides assistance for industrial human resource development, enhancement of logistics and economic infrastructure, and livelihood improvement in rural areas. In particular, JICA promotes regional economic development through the utilization of international logistics corridors centered on the Port of Walvis Bay and works to reduce poverty and address inequality through agricultural development.
Below is an overview of major JICA programs implemented in the Republic of Namibia.
