A Japanese consulting firm based in Lagos, Hidemi Consulting and EKO Hotels & Suites, Lagos, had organized a Japanese Sake and Food Soiree in Lagos in partnership with the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) Lagos, and SPAR from 18th to 20th February 2022 at Sky restaurant EKO Hotels and Suites, Lagos. The Japanese Sake and Food Fair, in essence, is a feasibility study to promote the export of Japanese foods and Sake to Nigeria in the future. Members of Kakehashi Africa - Nigeria Ex-participants of the long-term Africa Business Education for youth (ABE-I) and Members of the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investments (FMITI) Think -Tank group, administered questionnaires to delegates to obtain data of tastes and preferences of Nigerian. They participated in the event as volunteers to strengthen their role as a bridge for business between the two countries. Varieties of Sake were available at the event for tasting by guests. In addition, varieties of Japanese foods - salade, hot starters, chicken dumpling, arranged sushi and shrimp curry served to guests. On the opening of the event, the Japanese Ambassador to Nigeria, His Excellency Mr. MATSUNAGA Kazuyoshi sent a video message expressing his support to event. Over I50, guests graced the event and participated in sake tasting. JICA Nigeria Office assisted in facilitating the event.
