JICA conducted "NINJA* Business Plan Competition in response to COVID-19" in 19 African countries to support startups that create innovative business models and technologies in the post-Corona era. (*NINJA = Next Innovation with Japan)

In Nigeria only, we received more than 500 applications, and seven startups won the competition. These seven starups signed PoC (Proof of Concept) contracts with JICA.

In addition to PoC projects, JICA conducted an Accelerator program for those seven startups in cooperation with Ventures Platform and Techcabal, and through the program, we prepared this "Ecosystem Report on Nigeria's Startup Scene".

Nigeria's startup ecosystem is one of the foremost in Africa in both investment and hub numbers, and you can find variety of new innovative startups every year. Thus, we prepared this report which covers all regions in Nigeria (NOT ONLY Lagos, but also other regions).
