| Background | The Macedonian Opera and Ballet (as of 2019 National Opera and Ballet) has been playing an important role in the Macedonian culture, as it is the only professional opera and ballet theatre in the country. A great number of operas and ballets from the classical and contemporary repertoire have been performed at the theatre. JICA recognized the importance of this institution and its contribution to Macedonian culture. The grant aid for purchasing of new instruments for the symphony orchestra and sound equipment will be completed in 2020. New instruments and equipment will contribute to the quality of Macedonian music culture, as well as increase performances in and outside of the country. |
