Lecture on“Japan's Digitalization Policy”for the 3rd Class of the Strategic Leaders Training
On November 5th at HCMA, Mr. SUDA Kazuhiro, Former Director-General of Telecommunications Bureau, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications and currently President of the Suteki Media Research Institute, delivered a lecture on the theme of “Japan’s Digitalization Policy” for the 3rd class of the Strategic Leaders Training that had started in October, 2024.
Vietnam is promoting digital transformation (DX) on a national scale. Mr. Suda comprehensively covered examples of DX in various sectors in Japan, such as public administration and agriculture, as well as Japan's current challenges, international evaluations, and the underlying causes of these issues.
Moreover, he highlighted the many similarities between Japan and Vietnam, such as population size and land area, and discussed how the aging society—an issue Vietnam is also going to face in the near future—might influence the promotion of DX. Drawing from Japan's experiences, he provided insights into the importance of perspectives such as balancing convenience for the government and citizens, and clarifying the roles of the public and private sectors. These points resonated with many participants, who recognized them as pressing challenges for Vietnam.
