Lecture on “Utilizing DX and AI to promote Economic and Industrial Development” for the 2nd Class of the Strategic Leaders Training
On Sep 19 at HCMA, Mr. MINAMIKAWA Hideki, former Vice Minister of Environment and currently President of Japan Environmental Sanitation Center (JESC), delivered a lecture on the theme of “Utilizing DX and AI to Promote Economic and Industrial Development” for the 2nd class of the Strategic Leaders Training that had started in August 2024. He touched on both the negative aspects of the development of DX and AI on climate change and the positive aspects and potential of mitigation measures, while also discussing how countries around the world, including Japan and Vietnam, should promote economic and industrial development in the face of the pressing issue of climate change, and the expected approaches of leaders.
A total of 50 vice-ministerial level participants belong to different organizations across the country and have different expertise, but climate change and global warming are common issues, thus the participants showed high level of interest in the topic. Also, DX and AI that have been promoted in Vietnam, so many questions such as‘How should we prioritise economic growth and environmental protection,’ ‘How should we fund shortfalls in achieving carbon neutrality,’ and ‘What incentives are available to businesses to promote DX?’.
