This Project News is to introduce the activities of Output 1 during April and June in 2024.

The Meeting for Patient Safety was organized in Salavan Provincial Hospital in May. The participants in charge of patient safety in four provincial health facilities shared their patient safety activities, and the quality improvement committee established a method to conduct improvement activities and evaluations regularly under a clear system among staff of Ministry of Health and four southern provinces. The participants for the meeting exchanged opinions regarding the surgical safety checklist which has been developed together with the short-term expert, and it was finalized in the meeting.

Each Province plans to have activities to promote patient safety in the targeted hospital.

Some of the hospitals had conducted Continuously Quality Improvement (CQI) activities to achieve the 5G1S standard. The trainings for Needle Stick and Warm Welcoming were planned in their action plans and conducted as one of the activities elected to train the staff to improve their skills and behaviors.

Each hospital plans to conduct more training to encourage each member of staff to have more knowledge and exchange experiences among them.
