1st Project Progress Meeting
On the afternoon of September 25, 2025, the 1st Progress Meeting was held at Chulalongkorn University. Researchers from both Japan and Thailand participated and exchanged views on the current research progress and future directions of the project.
During the meeting, discussions were conducted with reference to international sustainability standards (RSB and ISCC), focusing on sustainability concepts in chemical production using agricultural residues as feedstock and on the direction of developing relevant guidelines. The participants also shared perspectives on the potential for stable feedstock supply by combining multiple raw materials—such as rice, sugarcane, and oil palm—and emphasized the importance of creating benefits for farmers.
In addition, progress under each research output was reported, including laboratory test results, considerations for scale-up, and recent achievements in catalyst development. Plans for future joint experiments and field surveys were also confirmed.
The project team will continue close collaboration between Japanese and Thai researchers and relevant institutions to advance research and development toward the valorization of waste biomass and its sustainable social implementation.
