3. Training Program

a. In-Country Training Program (ICTP)

JICA has been supporting the Philippine government's self-help efforts for development by conducting several technical cooperation schemes. With regard to the assistance in the self development efforts of the government of the Philippines, JICA is willing to assist in the effort by supporting the Philippine government's program in facilitating the dissemination of technique, knowledge and skills transferred through previous JICA's technical cooperation even more effectively and efficiently. "In-Country Training Program (ICTP)" has been established as one of the supporting modalities of the Japanese technical assistance to strengthen the program owned by the government in spreading capacity of human resources development in developing countries.

The ICTP is a training program cooperation conducted domestically based on the initiative, the capability and the spirit of cooperation of local executing institutions in supporting capacity building and human resources development in variety of development fields in developing countries. Through this program, local resource experts play a leading role both in organizing the training program as well as, transferring their expertise by using local language even more suitable to the local context and local participants.
