JICA holds first 60-second video contest in Philippines

As the Philippines and the rest of the world reckon with community quarantine and social distancing, sharing short videos online offers connection among people coping with the COVID-19 pandemic.

Onto the second year of the COVID-19 outbreak, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) challenges Filipinos, young or old, to produce a short, quality video in a 60-second Video Contest.

The competition is open to Filipinos of all ages, beginner or experienced in video-making, who are challenged to create creative, meaningful content that can attract public attention.

"Filipinos are creative people who have the ability to tell stories that are inspiring, funny, or simply those that spark joy despite the pandemic. The 60-second video contest offers an opportunity for people to come together and share video content that can inspire despite COVID-19," said JICA Senior Representative HIROSAWA Jin.

The JICA 60-second Video Contest has a theme "Co-Creating a Better Future For All" encouraging participants to show their creativity and thoughts in mentioning a JICA project or activity in the video and answering how we can all create a better future with JICA or Japan.

The contest will run until November 30, 2021 and mechanics are available here:
