Join the JICA Philippines Demo Day (May 10th 1PM via online)
--- Japanese companies introduce innovative technologies to the Philippines toward quality growth and PPP promotion in the Philippines

Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) will organize an Online Business Matching Event (Demo Day) on May 10th, 1PM via Zoom.

During this event, ten (10) Japanese Companies with whom JICA has collaborated through JICA's Public Private Partnership (PPP) Promotion Program in the country, will give a 10-minute pitch respectively to introduce their innovative technologies and business models that could contribute to the achievement of Philippines' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Through this event, participants can discover and connect with these Japanese companies and tap into the unique and advanced technological trends and innovations from Japan.

This event is widely open to the general public. National and local government officials, representatives from private companies including startups, research institutes, etc. are highly encouraged to participate to address various development challenges and also to explore business opportunities for PPP.

Japanese companies to deliver their eye-opening presentations at the event include

  1. Spectee, Inc., which offers Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology to address natural disaster risk management;
  2. Daisho Co. Ltd, which developed slope protection technology that prevents landslide disasters;
  3. Aster Co. Ltd. which verified, in collaboration with University of Tokyo, a special coating material, "Power Coating", for earthquake resiliency;
  4. OM MFG. Co. Ltd. which created a unique wastewater treatment system;
  5. Kanazawa Engineering Systems, Inc. which pioneered a revolutionary system that recycles waste cooking oil as fuel for electric generators without purification;
  6. Hinode Sangyo Co. Ltd., which is known for its wastewater treatment system utilizing biological method;
  7. FujiClean Co. Ltd. which is known in Japan and in the US for its technology that enables wastewater treatment;
  8. Daikyo Giken-Kogyo Co. Ltd., which developed an insect trap sheet that farmers could reduce usage of pesticides;
  9. King Coal, Ltd. which offers soil improvement materials for addressing new Panama diseases in banana plantations; and
  10. MKP Inc. and Berg Earth Co., ltd which developed a cocopeat technology that hydrates crops.

JICA encourages said companies to look into the Philippine development challenges, as their unique technologies are helpful to establish win-win partnerships where Japanese private sector can tie up with public and private organizations in the Philippines, too. In this way, Japanese companies are able to tap the potential of the Philippine market, while the Philippines can lead to the improvement of quality of life, the boost of socio-economic growth, and the creation of job opportunities,.

JICA is the world's largest bilateral aid agency and is the Philippines' biggest Official Development Assistance (ODA) partner. The PPP Promotion Program is one of JICA's cooperation priorities in the Philippines to support sustainable, inclusive, and resilient socio-economic growth.
