Launch of Baseline Survey at Candidate Sites for the Pilot Project (Cundinamarca)

On August 11, 2022, the project team started a baseline survey in El Castillo, Yacopí, Cundinamarca, one of the candidate sites for the pilot project. In the baseline survey, the project team plans to obtain information from three groups of people (i.e., associations, individual members, and external related organizations), using four aspects of: economic, social, psychological, and capacities.

During this visit, association board members were interviewed for details on union activities that were not captured during the initial visit in July. In addition, over the following week, a total of 52 members were interviewed individually over the course of a week. As a result, in addition to association members being very cooperative, the project members were able to collect information efficiently and without errors by utilizing a digital survey tool called KoboToolbox and recording information with smartphones.

The project will now analyze the collected data and work together with the project stakeholders, mainly the unions supported by this site, to develop an activity plan. We also plan to conduct similar surveys at the other four sites scheduled for implementation this fiscal year.

This project will continue to cooperate for the realization of rural reforms and peacebuilding in Colombia.
