Sector Working Agriculture Group (SWAG) meeting was held!

On 11th February 2021, the Sector Working Agriculture Group (SWAG) meeting was held. The group is responsible for assessing whether or not to commence the project activities by the Ministry of Agriculture which covers multiple Counties. The group consists of the representatives of Counties including County Executive Committee (CEC) and Chief Officer (CO), and adhering to the Kenyan devolution framework and suggesting the project design to avoid repeating the failures of the project conducted.

In the meeting, our counterparts explained the outline of the whole SHEP Biz project and the selection of the 1st batch 10 Counties for the SHEP component. Selecting a target county is the process the stakeholders pay attention the most, and in some cases the selection may be instructed to redo. The group approved the implementation of activities in the selected 10 counties since the project presented the selection criteria and quantitative scoring results clearly.

Next activity will be the workshop targeting the CECs of the Counties!
