Farm Business Linkage Stakeholder (FABLIST) forum for farmers and agri-business stakeholders was conducted!

The project conducted the Farm Business Linkage Stakeholder (FABLIST) forum on 7th and 8th October in Kwale County targeting farmers and agri-business stakeholders. FABLIST is conducted Sub-County basis and aims for business matching between project target farmer groups and stakeholders including seeds company, fertilizer company, retailers, etc. Participants are 4 farmer group representatives (2 males and 2 females per group, in total 20 farmers) and agri-business stakeholders, maximum of 10 companies to secure enough time to share information and discuss. Farmer groups discussed their challenges and clarified what they would like to solve supported by extension officers in advance, then participate in the forum.

In FABLIST forum, the agribusiness stakeholders explained the advantages of their products and services by showing products and pamphlet. Farmers asked how to use products, price, etc. It was impressive that both farmers and agribusiness stakeholders discussing seriously. One service provider of pesticide company demonstrated how to use their products and received a lot of questions from farmers.

"It was very useful to create connections with serious farmers", commented by the agribusiness stakeholders, "I'm happy to know various business stakeholders. At first, I would like to purchase a good quality seed to start next cropping season", commented by farmers. It seemed that both farmers and stakeholders had useful time.

Next, the project will organize a Joint Extension Staff and Farmers Dual (2) Gender (JEF2G) Training that farmers practice market survey and crop selection!
