Introduction of Projects

Senior volunteer program for Teacher of Japanese Language

Background of the Project:

Philological High School is a specialized school for languages and linguistic studies. This is the only public school in Serbia at secondary educational level where pupils can learn Japanese language. Japanese language class was established in Philological High School in 1992. Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) recognized that senior volunteer, a teacher of Japanese language, would be great help for pupils and will help improve the teaching of Japanese language in the Philological High School. It is very important to have native Japanese speaker who would assist in Japanese teaching. Volunteer also teaches conversation and culture of Japan each class (1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade) once per week (45 minutes).

  • Project objective: Improving of the pupils' conversation skills in Philological High School specialized school for language and linguistic studies

  • Duration: September 2011 – September 2013
  • Executing Organization: Philological High School
  • Outputs:
  1. The conversation skills of the pupils and teaching method of the teachers will be improved.
  2. Pupils' interest in Japan will be enhanced in general.
