Introduction of Projects

Senior Volunteer Program kendo instructor

Background of the Project:

Kendo has been practicing in Serbia for more than 30 years. Kendo Federation of Serbia finds out that transferring the spirit of traditional Kendo from Japanese and developing mutual understanding between two cultures would be essential. Learning from instructors how it can be transferred to disciples, not just technique and method but the core of this traditional Japanese marshal art. The purpose of Kendo is to mold the mind and body, to cultivate a vigorous spirit. Through correct and rigid training, to strive for improvement in the art of Kendo, to associate with others with sincerity, and to forever pursue the cultivation of oneself. This will make one be able to love his/her country and society, to contribute to the development of culture and promote peace and prosperity among all peoples.

  • Project objective: Improving techniques of Kendo and methods of training
  • Project sites: Entire Serbia
  • Duration: March 2011 – March 2013
  • Executing Organization: Kendo Federation Serbia
  • Outputs:
  1. Improving of Kendo technique from beginners to higher grades.
  2. Creating more efficient methods of training.
  3. Increase number of Kendo fans in Serbia.
  4. Getting better score of Serbian Kendo national team at the European and the World championships.
