6 Border crossing points (Tem, Ruzvai, Ishkashim, Langar, Kumrogi and Shoghun) and 2 cross border markets (Ruzvai and Ishkashim)

7) Project Objective:
To improve economic and security situation of the cross border regions of Tajikistan and Afghanistan through effective management of the border.
8) Project Scope / Activities:
- To conduct capacity building for border management and counter narcotics policy formulation, implementation and monitoring;
- To construct Langar Border Cross Point (BCPs);
- To upgrade Tem, Ruzvai, Ishkashim, Langar, Kumrogi and Shoghun BCPs;
- To upgrade two cross border markets facilities.
9) Expected Results:
- Capacity of border security agencies for legal flow of people and goods across the Tajik-Afghan border is increased;
- Livelihoods of border adjacent communities, especially women to trade opportunities is improved.
10) Beneficiaries:
About 250 border security agency workers and 2,000 users of target cross-border market as direct beneficiary, together with 158,000 people of the target community as indirect beneficiaries.
