Project for Improvement of Substations in Dushanbe

3) Project Budget:

2,19 billion Japanese Yen (approximately 19,7 mln. USD as of December 2017).

4) Project Duration:

June 2017 - June 2019

5) Target Area:

Dushanbe city

6) Counterpart Agency:

  • Ministry of Energy and Water Resources of the Republic of Tajikistan
  • OJSHC "Barqi Tojik"

7) Project Objective:

To improve sustainability of efficient and stable power supply in Dushanbe city, thereby contributing to social and economic development of the Republic of Tajikistan.

8) Project Scope / Activities:

  • To construct 110kV "Radiostansiya" substation located in Somoni district of Dushanbe
  • To rehabilitate 110kV "Promyshlennaya" substation located in Sino district of Dushanbe by replacing existing deteriorated equipment the capacity of Vodokanal staff on operation and maintenance of water supply facility.

9) Expected Results:

  • To ensure reliable power supply and improve electricity quality in Dushanbe;
  • To strengthen capacity of relevant technical staff of the Ministry of Energy and Water Resources of the Republic of Tajikistan and OJSHC "Barqi Tojik" in rehabilitating of outdated power facilities;

10) Beneficiaries:

Population of Dushanbe city

11) Contributing to the NDS 2016-2030:

To ensure energy independence and efficient use of electricity through development of energy infrastructure (electric networks and substations)

12) Contribution to SDGs:

To ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all (SDG - 7)
