450 million Japanese Yen (approximately 4.05 mln. USD as of December 2017)

5) Target Area:

Dushanbe city

6) Counterpart Agency:

  • Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Tajikistan

7) Project Objective:

To promote clean energy utilization and reduce emissions by installing the photovoltaic system

8) Project Scope / Activities:

  • Procurement and installation of photovoltaic systems to National Medical Center (120 kWt), Institute of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Perinatology (40 kWt) and Dushanbe City Maternity Hospital No. 3 (30 kWt).
  • Training on maintenance and exploitation of photovoltaic system

9) Expected Results:

  • Savings in usage and payment of electricity are made;
  • Gas emissions are reduced;
  • Specialists in maintenance and exploitation of photovoltaic system are prepared;

10) Beneficiaries:

3 target hospital patients (approx. 700,000 people)

11) Contributing to the NDS 2016-2030:

To ensure energy independence and efficient use of electricity

12) Contribution to SDGs:

To ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all (SDG - 7)
