With the JICA Partnership Program, JICA supports and jointly implements cooperation activities in developing countries which are planned by Japanese NGOs, Japanese local governments, and Japanese universities, utilizing their accumulated experience and techniques. The target is projects that serve the local people directly.

Key Points of the JICA Partnership Program

Point #1: Projects are of immediate use to local residents!

This program is intended for projects which serve to directly improve the standards of living and incomes of people in developing countries and have carefully executed activities on the grassroots level.

Particular priority is placed on three areas: (1) technical cooperation thorough people (projects whose main purpose is not to build facilities or provide equipment), (2) direct use to people living in developing countries in terms of improving improve standards of living and incomes, and (3) opportunities for Japanese citizens to participate in international cooperation.

Point #2: More than 70 partner countries around the globe!

Projects can be carried out in any country where JICA has an overseas office. Please note that implementation requirements vary by country, so be sure to consult with JICA Tokyo for details before planning your project.
