Jakarta, 31st March 2022, Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) signed Record of Discussions (R/D) with Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), Republic of Indonesia for a Science and Technology Research Partnership for Sustainable Development (SATREPS) "The Project for Strengthening Tropical Forest Resilience based on Management and Utilization of Genetic Resources Capable of Climate Change Adaptation". The joint research is conducted under the framework of technical cooperation involving various University Researchers, and Government Officials from Japanese and Indonesian institutions. The aim of this project is that Genetic materials with higher adaptability to climate change and productivity are recommended to stakeholders in the forestry sector in Indonesia.

By the implementation of this project, we expect the benefits of the use of genetic materials with higher adaptability to climate change and productivity are widely recognized in Indonesia.
