Study on Optimal Power Generation for Peak Demand in Turkey

Background and Objective

According to"Turkish Electrical Energy 10-Year Generation Capacity Projection", it is estimated that the electricity consumption and maximum electricity demand will be increasing by 8.4 % annually till 2015. In addition, it is predicted that current electricity generation situation can not meet the demand by 2015. This project aims to plot the stable supply of energy through pumped storage power plant which is a new renewable energy technology in Turkey.

Project Description

This project contains the review of existing proposal of pumped storage power plants, considering technical aspect, economic/financial conditions, location requirements like connection with the transmission grid, and environmental impacts etc. and the formulation of the optimum plan of peak power supply in Turkey.
