In order to contribute to the sustainable economic development of the country, JICA implements projects to improve competitiveness and productivity of agriculture and food processing sector, which is the nation's main industry, diversification of non-agriculture sector, promotion of cleaner energy, environmentally-friendly urban development etc. In addition, JICA supports improvement in living standards and eradication of poverty, by supporting country's efforts for the improvement of public services (i.e. health and medical, education, disaster prevention etc.).
