With a population of roughly 40 million people, Argentina has large agricultural and livestock resources, in addition to abundant natural resources. With a relatively advanced standard of technology in the manufacturing industry, Argentina has influence in the international community, including its membership in the G20. To achieve sustained economic growth, improving productivity and quality along with stimulating exports is essential in each manufacturing sector, and there is also a serious regional disparities issue. In addition, Argentina faces development-related burden environmental global warming. JICA's support to Argentina is primarily focused on: 1) environmental conservation 2) regional economic revitalization.
