JICA Training Program

Sponsorship Covered

The Government of Japan provides the following allowances and covers the following expenses through JICA in accordance with the relevant laws and regulations.

Round trip Air ticket between Bangladesh (Dhaka) and Japan, Living allowance, Accommodation allowance, Transportation and Communication allowance, and Supplementary allowances (Outfit allowance, and Shipping allowance).

(The allowances for Long-Term training participants differs from other programs)

JICA will not meet costs other than the allowances described above. JICA is not responsible for the following expenses:

  • Passport charges (for reassurance and extensions etc.)
  • Third country visa charges
  • Home country domestic travel expenses
  • Tax on air tickets
  • Departure tax
  • Airport tax/airport facility charges outside of Japan, including third countries
  • Customs duty
  • Charges for excess baggage
  • Compensation for lost and/or damaged luggage

All JICA participants are eligible for JICA medical services for the full period of their stay in Japan, from the arrival until the departure. However, the Medical Insurance covered by JICA WILL NOT meet expenses for:

  • Medical treatment for illness or injury caused by willful misconduct
  • Medical treatment of a pre-existent illness
  • Corrective surgery which is not necessary immediately
  • Cosmetic surgery
  • Immunizations, routine medical examinations and vaccinations
  • Any medical treatment related to and resulting from pregnancy and/or childbirth
  • Dental treatment
  • Purchase or repair of corrective eyeglasses and/or contact lenses
  • Medicine without a prescription from a doctor
