Established in 2000, JICA Alumni Association of Bhutan (JAAB) is a non-governmental organization aimed at promoting Bhutan-Japan friendship in appreciation of the Japanese government's assistance for Bhutan's socioeconomic development. Members of JAAB are Bhutanese who have availed their studies or trainings in Japan, those who share common interests for the promotion of friendship and understanding between the peoples of Bhutan and Japan. All JICA participants are requested to join the association upon their completion of JICA sponsored training.
Over the years, JAAB has carried out impressive activities like tree plantation program, and blood donation campaigns among many others. JAAB presently has around 300 members.
