Launch of Report: Toward Successful Promotion of Micro-, Small- and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs) by Observing Experiences in Japan and Malaysia - Centricity of MSMEs Finance - and Best Practices on PPP Infrastructure Development

Starting with the conclusion of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Development Bank of Southern Africa (DBSA) in May 2010, Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) has been actively cooperating with Development Finance Institutions (DFIs) in SADC regions.

JICA had concluded MoU with several DFIs who play a crucial role in the region as well and dispatched advisor on development finance to the Southern African Development Community-Development Finance Resource Centre (SADC-DFRC) from 2016 to March 2020.

Through the activities of the advisor, JICA has contributed to develop DFIs' capacity and tried to encourage Japan's enterprise participation to PPP project in the region.

As one of the advisor's activities, two Reports: Toward Successful Promotion of Micro-, Small- and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs) by Observing Experiences in Japan and Malaysia - Centricity of MSMEs Finance - and Best Practices on PPP Infrastructure Development have been compiled. We expect that these reports will give readers good examples on PPP as well as MSMEs enabling environment and promote MSMEs in the region.
