JICA Botswana through the "Smile for All in the World" program donated several items to Stepping Stones International, a non-governmental organization that empowers school going children and youth to reach their dreams and become leaders in their own capacity. The donation comprises of sporting equipment such as 17 Soccer shirts and shorts, 20 Tennis Rackets and balls, 7 Judo uniform, 3 Harmonica musical instruments and 3 soccer shirts. Mr. Hideo Eguchi, Resident Represent (R.R) of JICA enlightened the guests that March is a very special month for Japanese people as it marks the catastrophic Tsunami suffered by Japan ten years ago where the rest of the world including Botswana, assisted their country to recovery. He further shared that, it is for this reason that Japanese people, in remembrance of the love and support by other nations, donate material that may be useful to charitable organizations all over the world.

During her speech, the Executive Director of SSI, Ms. Lisa Jamu expressed her heartfelt gratitude to JICA for the kind donation which she assured that her organization will give back to JICA by making sure that the donations benefit youth and children in realizing their dreams. She also informed that she takes partnership between themselves and JICA very seriously hence looking forward to more fruitful relationships through Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteers (JOCV).

Smile for all in the World program is an initiative that seeks to donate useful material (used items in good condition) to organization across the world from Japan which may be of benefit to the recipients' organization.
